Prior to actually going out and viewing properties here on Cape Cod, you will need to obtain a pre-approval from a local lender familiar with the Cape Cod market. This is for your best interest- before you take the time and energy to find a property, fall in love with it, then to only find out there was a tiny glitch in the mortgage process to prevent you from obtaining your dream second home on Cape Cod. In many cases, Sellers are demanding that only pre-approved Buyers are allowed into their homes.
